Consider...

What a strange species we are, scurrying and scampering around, trying to do ourselves good.

Enough to eat and drink.

Enough to keep us warm and amused.

Enough to make us feel good.

Human flourishing at it's finest.... living in the moment.

Well, as the song puts it, is that all there is?

We live amongst a realm of astonishing magnificence, and have huge potential. Every once and a while, one of us connects with the scope of it all, inspiration descends and WHAM!, we get a glimpse into the magnitude of what we're involved in, not just existing or briefly breathing, but peeking at what's truly... there.

God isn't just a shrinking explanation for the 'bits' that we have yet to understand. God is THE artist, the master-craftsman, the one who fashions all of time and space, matter and void, physical and meta physical into a whole to reflect and express something that truly conveys something of His splendour and majesty... forever. That's why it's fantastic to be who and what we are - not just "star stuff", but beings imbued with the very breath of the divine. Our problem, of course, is that we cannot look there - we want to scrub that out, stamp it into the dirt, because that reflection reminds us just how far we've fallen from our proper station, made of earth, destined for the heavens. Trouble is, when we actually look, we cannot escape the truth, so we blur the images with our folly and our noise of wilful rebellion, cutting and running like thieves forever marked with the mark of the one we have stolen from.

There's a richer provision for our deepest hunger and thirst.

There's a haven that will hold us secure beyond any storm.

There's a surety that never ceases, and a joy that meets us amidst all storms.

All you need to do today is encounter the one who is calling you home.

Come and find what you so deeply need, and allow the fullness of the adventure to take you... home.
